Heading hierarchy
Do not skip levels (H1 → H3) — WCAG 1.3.1 information and relationships.
Pass condition in our engine: Heading levels do not skip.
1. Problem description
Skipped levels make the outline lie. Page builders that start a block at H3 because it “looks right” are the usual cause. We also fail if the sequence jumps after the first heading.
2. Most common causes
- Visual hierarchy chosen without changing the tag.
- Reusable blocks hard-coded as H3.
3. How to fix it
- Start with H1, then H2, then H3.
- Change CSS, not the heading level, to get the size you want.
