The newest valid schema date should be within about a year for a full score.
Pass condition in our engine: Newest parsed date is ≤365 days (partial credit ≤730).
1. Problem description
We take the newest datePublished/dateModified we can parse — not a random year in a footnote. Content older than two years gets a warning. Evergreen pages should still be reviewed and have their modified date bumped when you check facts.
2. Most common causes
- Guides last edited in 2019 with current-year ads around them.
- No schema dates, so age cannot be proven.
3. How to fix it
- Review and update facts, then set dateModified.
- Add a “Last reviewed” line in the body.
