Short paragraphs and a sensible heading rhythm make extraction and reading easier.
Pass condition in our engine: Homepage-style paragraphs sit mostly in the 50–300 character band without many 400+ blocks.
1. Problem description
Walls of 600-character paragraphs bury the claim. Content Clarity blends paragraph length, sentence length and heading density. It is not a Flesch score (that is a separate metric) — it is a structure score aimed at AI reuse.
2. Most common causes
- PDF-like essays pasted into WordPress.
- No H2s in a 2,000-word article.
- One sentence per line that still forms huge <p> tags via a builder.
3. How to fix it
- Keep paragraphs roughly 50–300 characters.
- Split anything over ~400 characters.
- Add H2/H3 about every few paragraphs.
